Goffs’ record-breaking season finished with a flourish Friday as the six-figure
barrier was
broken during the foals and breeding stock section of the December Sale at the
County Kildare
venue. BBA Ireland’s John Tyrrell was responsible for the session-topping bid,
securing the
six-year-old mare Gilded Vanity (Indian Ridge) for 100,000. Offered
by Kilcoran
House Stud as Hip 1180, the full sister to Irish Two Thousand Guineas (Ire-G1) runner-up Fa-Eq was
sold in foal to Desert Style.

Of the 268 lots offered, 151 found new homes
for an
aggregate 767,900 and an average price
of 5,085.

“It’s has been an outstanding year for
Goffs, with aggregate returns showing major increases on last year,” said
Managing Director
Matt Mitchell. “On behalf of myself and all the team at Goffs, I would
like to thank all
our vendors and purchasers for their support in 2005, and wish them a very happy
Christmas
and a prosperous new year.”

At the close of the sale, the Kill-based company
announced a
substantial increase on the previous year’s turnover, up a massive 47 percent to
102,558,875.
