Three-time Grade 1 winner SOCIETY SELECTION (Coronado’s Quest) has been
retired. An earner of more than $1.9 million, the four-year-old filly concluded
her career with a runner-up finish in the Breeders’ Cup Distaff (G1) at Belmont
Park.

Owned and bred by Irvin and Marjorie Cowan, Society Selection posted a record
of 6-6-2 from 19 starts, earning her first major victory at two in the Frizette
S. (G1). The Allen Jerkens-trained bay went on to display excellent versatility
when winning a pair of prestigious Grade 1 events in 2004, the seven-furlong
Test S. and the 1 1/4-mile Alabama S. at Saratoga, and she added the Shuvee H.
(G2) to her resume this year. Society Selection also recorded runner-up finishes
in the Ruffian H. (G1), Ogden Phipps H. (G1), Beldame S. (G1), Acorn S. (G1) and
Bonnie Miss S. (G2) during her three seasons of racing.

She’s the first foal out of the Grade 3-winning Love That Jazz (Dixieland
Band), who is a half-sister to Grade 2 winner Sea of Secrets and Grade 3 hero
Fight for Love.
