William Inglis & Son finished up 2005
with a healthy result from the Inglis December Thoroughbred Sale at the Oaklands complex
in
Melbourne, Australia, Friday. A total of 176 head grossed A$1,240,000, an increase
of 32
percent over last year, with a clearance rate of 93 percent. The sale was buoyed
by offerings
from the Written Bloodstock dispersal, including the top price of A$180,000 for
TIMELESS MISS (Gilded Time). Tullimbar Pty Ltd acquired the stakes-placed three-year-old filly out
of
Rancho Miss (Rancher).

“It is always pleasing to complete the selling year on a high note and that
was certainly the case today,” said Peter Heagney, the sales director. “The
excellent clearance reflects the satisfaction from both buyers and sellers.
The good competition for race horses augers well for our forthcoming Yearling
Sales series.”

In
all, 176 of the 190 offered horses sold for an average price of A$7,045.
