A colt by Australia’s leading first-season sire Exceed and Excel brought the
top price of A$210,000 at Monday’s sixth session of the Conrad Jupiters Magic
Millions Yearling Sale at the Gold Coast. Purchased by Queensland-based buyer
Alan Acton, the September 9 foal was consigned by Woodlands Stud, acting as
agent.

The bay is the second foal produced by Yum Yum (Entrepreneur), who is a
daughter of stakes winner Slanchyvah (Kaapstad), making this colt a half-brother
to New Zealand Group 2 winner Dreamworks (Maroof).

Exceed and Excel also set the mark for the two sessions, realizing an average
of A$115,000 for two sold, while agent Jamie Nielsen led the way with A$961,500
in expeditures for 20 yearlings. A new record for gross was achieved at the
conclusion of the fifth and sixth session, weighing in at A$11,011,000 for 354
head sold.

“We’re delighted with the number of buyers at the sale, particularly the
number of international buyers,” Magic Millions Managing Director David Chester
said. “(During session six) we had buyers from Singapore, New Zealand, Korea,
Macau, Hong Kong, The Philippines and the United States.

“There’s still some lovely prospects to come over the next couple of days,”
Chester added.

The third and final stage of the sale begins Tuesday, concluding with
Wednesday’s eighth session. For complete results, log onto
