Tilapia tops Lincoln sale

Doncaster Bloodstock Sales staged their first auction at their new sales
complex Tuesday, and it was the four-year-old Tilapia (Daggers Drawn) who topped
proceedings when selling for £38,000.
Consigned as Hip No. 62 by Sir Mark Prescott’s Heath House Stables, the
four-time-winning half-brother to listed-placed Masafi was knocked down to
Gay Kelleway Racing.

Michael Jarvis’s Kremlin House Stables was responsible for the second-highest
priced lot when Hip 100, the sophomore colt Maadraa (Josr Algarhoud), fetched
£32,000. Having graduated in a Lingfield
maiden last week, the son of the Pretty Polly S. (Ire-G2) winner Del Deya (Caerleon)
will be campaigned by Bernard Llewellyn.

DBS Managing Director Henry Beeby was in positive mood after the sale, which
reported a healthy 87 percent clearance rate.

“We are delighted with our first day of selling in the new complex and
thrilled with the positive feedback that we have received from every person who
has visited,” he said. “We look forward to building on this successful start
when we stage Europe’s Classic Breeze-Up Sales at our new venue next week, and
we are confident that the 2008 catalogue is stronger than ever and will continue
the successful foundation that was established in our previous premises.”
