Fasig-Tipton Kentucky hosts its July Selected Horses of Racing Age Sale at Newtown Paddocks on Monday evening, the opening act as it were for Tuesday’s yearling sale.

Since the initial release of the catalog, an additional 20 lots have been supplemented, making for a total of 126 horses entered.

Graded winners set to go through the ring include smart turf performer MADE YOU LOOK (More Than Ready), Hip No. 462, hero of last summer’s With Anticipation (G2) and the January 7 Dania Beach (G3) who was most recently fourth in the July 2 Charlie Barley at Woodbine; BITUMEN (Mineshaft), Hip 410, who scored his signature win in the Sanford (G3); and Inside Information (G2) winner DISTINTA (Summer Bird), Hip 423, exiting a second in the July 1 Princess Rooney (G2).

All three are consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency, whose draft also includes supplemental entrant ROSE TO FAME (Gemologist), added as Hip 522 after staying perfect in the July 1 Brave Raj.

Among WinStar Racing’s offerings are Grade 1-placed stakes veteran CLOSING BELL (Tapit), Hip 419, coming off a close sixth in the July 1 United Nations (G1), and BENEFACTOR (More Than Ready), Hip 409, third in the July 1 Carry Back (G3).

Sophomore filly HAPPY MESA (Sky Mesa), Hip 440, was last seen landing the May 19 Hilltop at Pimlico, while SOMETHINGELSE (Leroidesanimaux), Hip 484, just enhanced her page with a first stakes victory in the June 17 Ginger Punch at Gulfstream Park. Multiple stakes-winning LORI’S STORE (El Prado), Hip 461, was fifth in the Ginger Punch, but the seven-year-old with career earnings of $356,813 has advertised her broodmare value by now.

Multiple graded stakes-placed ZULU (Bernardini), Hip 402; English Channel S. winner BRONSON (Medaglia d’Oro), Hip 411 out of brilliant racemare and noted producer Cambiocorsa; and multiple stakes-placed TOTAL TAP (Candy Ride), Hip 496, are all well-bred colts who could continue to burnish their resumes.

Additions to the original catalog include juvenile maiden rompers GO NONI GO (Get Stormy), Hip 507, who captured an Ellis Park turf sprint Sunday, and SHEKKY SHABAZ (Cape Blanco), Hip 524, successful at Presque Isle June 26. Three-year-old filly THERE’SYOURTROUBLE (Into Mischief), Hip 525, has won two straight for Steve Asmussen, and DREAMIN (Woke Up Dreamin) was the final last-minute entry, Hip 526, after extending her winning streak to three in Thursday’s Saylorville at Prairie Meadows.

“This is our fifth year conducting the Horses of Racing Age Sale, and we feel that this is our strongest catalog to date,” Fasig-Tipton President Boyd Browning said upon its initial release. “The sale has attracted entries from several of the most prominent racing stables in the country, and buyers will find a number of turn-key, quality offerings no matter their budget.

“Since this sale was first held in 2013, sale graduates have made more than 3,500 starts for their new owners, earning more than $19 million. The sale has also produced 25 percent stakes horses and more than 40 stakes wins.”
