Upcoming Stakes for January 3 – 9

Santa Anita Park once again hosts the only graded events over the weekend. On Saturday, the San Gabriel Stakes (G2) will share the card with the Sham Stakes (G3), the second Road to the Kentucky Derby points contest of 2019. Sunday will see the first Road to the Kentucky Oaks points event of the New Year when the Southern California track puts on the Santa Ynez Stakes (G2) for newly turned three-year-old fillies.
