McAnally sends three into Yellow Ribbon

Trainer Ron McAnally is responsible for three of the 10
entrants in Saturday’s $500,000 Yellow Ribbon S. (G1) at Santa
Anita. The 1 1/4-furlong turf test is the highlight of three
Breeders’ Cup prep races set for the day.

Group 1 winner VOZ DE COLEGIALA (Chi) (Sayaret), Group 3
heroine GOOD STUDENT (Arg) (Louis Quatorze) and COZIE ADVANTAGE
(Tactical Advantage) will all run uncoupled for McAnally in the
Yellow Ribbon. Voz de Colegiala scored in the Osunitas H. two
back at Del Mar, then finished a close fifth in the Palomar
Breeders’ Cup H. (G2) last out. The second- and third-place
finishers from that race, KATDOGAWN (GB) (Bahhare) and TANGLE
(Ire) (Bob Back), respectively, also return in this spot.

The Bobby Frankel-trained LIGHT JIG (GB) (Danehill) drew the
rail under Rene Douglas for the Yellow Ribbon. They’ll be
followed by Tangle, Corey Nakatani; Katdogawn, Kent Desormeaux;
NOTTING HILL (Brz) (Jules), Omar Figueroa; NOCHES DE ROSA (Chi)
(Stagecraft [GB]), Tyler Baze; Voz de Colegiala, Alex Bisono;
Cozie Advantage, Martin Pedroza; Good Student, Mike Smith;
AMORAMA (Fr) (Sri Pekan), David Flores; and HOH BUZZARD (Ire)
(Alhaarth), Brice Blanc.

All but three-year-old Amorama will carry 126 pounds. She’ll
tote 118 pounds.

Next in the lineup, the $500,000 Goodwood Breeders’ Cup S.
(G2), will not see an attempt at a three-peat as two-time
defending champion Pleasantly Perfect (Pleasant Colony) is
skipping the nine-furlong event. Instead, Hollywood Gold Cup (G1)
hero TOTAL IMPACT (Chi) (Stuka) will go as the 119-pound
highweight in the Goodwood. The Laura de Seroux-trained
six-year-old was a good third, just 1 3/4 lengths back, in the
Pacific Classic (G1) most recently.

CALIFORNIAN (GB) (Zafonic) and Pedroza will lead the post
parade under a 113-pound impost. Next in line will be LUNDY’S
LIABILITY (Brz) (Candy Stripes), Flores, 118; SUPAH BLITZ
(Mecke), Nakatani, 117; TRULY A JUDGE (Judge T C), Douglas, 114;
Total Impact, Smith; and DURING (Cherokee Run), Javier Santiago,
116.

Two-year-old fillies will get their time in the spotlight when
nine go in the $200,000 Oak Leaf S. (G2). The winner and
third-place finisher from the Del Mar Debutante S. (G1), SWEET
CATOMINE
(Storm Cat) and HELLO LUCKY (Lucky Lionel), will square
off yet again in the 1 1/16-mile race.

Hello Lucky, Smith; SEEKING THE HEAT (Silver Charm), Pedroza;
SPLENDID BLENDED (Unbridled’s Song), Desormeaux; CULTURE CLASH
(Petionville), Kerwin John; NO BULL BABY (Indian Charlie),
Douglas; NINADIVINA (Cape Town), Paul Atkinson; MEMORETTE (Memo
[Chi]), Baze; FEARLESS FLYER (Ire) (Brave Act [GB]), Flores; and
Sweet Catomine, Nakatani.

All will carry 119 pounds.
