Full field set for Distaff

A full field of 12 will contest the Churchill Downs Distaff H.
(G2) on Sunday, a one-mile dirt event for fillies and mares three-years-old
and up, with the highweight to be carried by LADY TAK (Mutakddim).
The Steve Asmussen-trained miss will concede as much as 12 pounds
to her rivals, but the chestnut will only give four to her most
dangerous competitor, ISLAND SAND (Tabasco Cat).

A multiple Grade 1 winner, Lady Tak will tote 123 pounds,
including jockey John Velazquez, in the Distaff. Crossing the
wire first in four of her six starts this year, the four-year-old
showed an affinity for the Churchill dirt when taking an
allowance race and the Winning Colors H., both at six furlongs.

She enters here off of two straight wins, the former in the
Ballerina H. (G1) over fellow Distaff entrant MY TRUSTY CAT (Tale
of the Cat) and most recently in the Gallant Bloom H. (G2). Lady
Tak broke her maiden at first asking at Churchill as well,
winning by 11 3/4-lengths.

The field, in post-position order from the rail out, is
SUSAN’S ANGEL (Cape Town), Rafael Bejarano, 115; MY BOSTON GAL (Boston
Harbor), Calvin Borel, 116; Lady Tak; REVOLUTIONARY ACT (Boston
Harbor), Brice Blanc, 111; WILDWOOD ROYAL (Royal Academy), Mark
Guidry, 115; My Trusty Cat, Pat Day, 118; MISS FORTUNATE (Deputy
Minister), Brian Peck, 115; THERE RUNS HATTIE (Rahy), Willie
Martinez, 113; LA REASON (Labeeb [GB]), Larry Melancon, 114; MAYO
ON THE SIDE (French Deputy), Robby Albarado, 118; HALORY LEIGH (Halory
Hunter), Craig Perret, 115; and Island Sand, Justin Shepherd.
