Group 2 Brazilian winner GIVEMEMORE (Brz) (Special Nash [Ire]) made her first
U.S. appearance a winning one on Tuesday when capturing the $40,000
Our Dear
Peggy S.
at Calder. Now trained by Kenny McPeek, the three-year-old filly
recorded a 4-3-1-0 mark in her native country, including Group 2 and Group 3
wins, before being acquired by her new connections. She came off a 206-day
layoff to defeat five sophomore rivals.

Sent off at 3-1 with Manoel Cruz in the saddle, Givememore tracked pacesetter
and 2-5 favorite Forestier (Forestry) down the backstretch of the 6 1/2-furlong
event. Miracle Runner (French Deputy) inherited
the lead in deep stretch from Forestier but couldn’t hold off Givememore, who
rallied on the outside through the stretch to get up for a neck
victory in the final strides. Forestier wound up finishing another
half-length back in third. The eventual winner stopped the teletimer over the fast track
in 1:17 3/5.

Bred in Brazil by Haras Mabruk and owned by Alnoff Stable, the chestnut lass
is out of the Group 2-placed Super Mensity (Stouci).
