Greater Good tops Southwest

Kentucky Jockey Club (G2) winner GREATER GOOD (Intidab) will make his
seasonal bow against six rivals in Saturday’s $100,000 Southwest S. at Oaklawn
Park. The one-mile event did not attract a couple of highly touted
three-year-olds currently based at Oaklawn, Afleet Alex (Northern Afleet) and
Rockport Harbor (Unbridled’s Song), but Greater Good remains a top draw. The Bob
Holthus-trained colt also captured the Kentucky Cup Juvenile (G3) last season
and will be ridden by John McKee on Saturday.

COPY MY NOTES (Souvenir Copy), who will make his first appearance since
capturing an allowance at Churchill Downs in mid-November, drew the rail with
Tim Doocy and will carry 119 pounds. Next comes MY PARADE (Parade Ground), Terry
Thompson, 117; Greater Good, 119; SILVER HAZE (Silver Deputy), Clifton Berry,
115; MAJOR LEAGUE (Magic Cat), Luis Quinonez, 119; MUNIFICENCE (Allen’s
Prospect), Calvin Borel, 117; and HUMOR AT LAST (Distorted Humor), Jeremy Rose,
117.

Aqueduct will host the $75,000 Fred “Cappy” Capossela S. on Saturday and six
sophomores have been assembled. PAVO (Marquetry) captured the City Zip S. over
the inner track prior to a fourth-place finish in the Count Fleet S. last out
and could vie for favoritism in the six-furlong event. Another top contender is
still a maiden, but ATTILA’S STORM (Forest Wildcat) comes off a couple of
promising efforts at Santa Anita and will likely draw support in his first start
for trainer John DeStefano Jr.

The “Cappy” field, from the rail with riders, is BENJAMIN BABY (Forest
Wildcat), Richard Migliore; Pavo, Alan Garcia; HOTTOTHETOUCH (Touch Gold), Tim
Thornton; DISTINCTIVE TRICK (Distinctive Pro), Stewart Elliott; SUMMERLAND (Western
Expression), Shaun Bridgmohan; and Attila’s Storm, Rafael Bejarano.

All will carry 116 pounds except Pavo, who totes 120.
