Finger Lakes Gaming and Racetrack officials announced on Thursday the stakes
schedule for the track’s 44th consecutive season, which is set for April 15
through November 29. The 161-day meet will feature 17 stake races worth an
estimated $1.065 million.
Highlighting the stakes schedule will be the 33rd running of the $150,000 New
York Derby on July 16. The 8 1/2-furlong test is the second leg of the Big Apple
Triple that is comprised of the Mike Lee S. at Belmont Park on June 26 and the
Albany S. at Saratoga on August 24. Any New York-bred sophomore who wins the triple will receive a $250,000 bonus.
Two changes to the schedule include the switch of the $50,000 George W. Barker S. on
May 30 and the $50,000 Jack Betta Be Rite S. on September 10 to handicap status.
