Twelve fillies and mares and one also eligible have been entered for Sunday’s
Honey Fox H. (G3) at Gulfstream Park. The majority of
the entrants in the 1 1/16-mile turf event have had a race this season, but we’ll go with WHERE WE LEFT
OFF (GB) (Dr Devious [Ire]), who has been left on the shelf by conditioner Christophe Clement since last October. The five-year-old mare went on a tear
starting at the beginning of last year, recording four wins and two seconds from seven starts, including a victory in the Matchmaker S. (G3),
and has been training forwardly at Payson Park. We’ll look for her to come
running late under Joe Bravo.

CHANGING WORLD (Spinning World) has a race under her belt this season, finishing third in the Sunshine
Millions Filly & Mare Turf S. on January 29. Since switching to the Barclay Tagg barn in the
fall of 2003, the consistent mare has only missed the board
twice in nine starts with a trip to the winner’s circle in four of those
outings. A Grade 3 winner, the five-year-old has the services of turf specialist
Edgar Prado and rates a dangerous threat.

RIVER BELLE (GB) (Lahib) has been off since November, but the classy
chestnut has not missed the board since coming to the United States, including an
allowance win and a victory in the Mrs. Revere S. (G2). The four-year-old is a
must use considering she has the successful trainer/jockey combo of Todd Pletcher and John Velazquez.

Recently transferred to the barn of Bill Mott, SAND SPRINGS (Dynaformer) is a
strong contender under Jerry Bailey. The five-year-old may have needed her last
race and could bounce back in fine fashion after getting that start under her
belt. We’ll use the dark bay in the gimmicks.

Mott also conditions the uncoupled FAST COOKIE (Deputy
Minister), who has a great chance to surprise. Second by a half-length in his
seasonal bow, the bay five-year-old has a versatile running style that jockey
Cornelio Velasquez could use to get up for part.

Stephen Margolis will saddle MARWOOD (Marlin) for the Honey Fox after a
second-place finish in the Sunshine Millions over Changing World last time. The
bay appears in top form and we’ll use her in the bottom of the exotics. SHACONAGE (El Prado [Ire]) may be past her best days, but we still can’t
completely rule her out. We’ll play her with Marwood near the bottom of our
trifectas and supers.

MYMICH (A.P. Indy) has been off since last November and may need a race. The
Eduardo Caramori-trained PRETTY JANE (Subordination) tried this level in the
Valley View S. (G3) last October and finished 10th. We can’t endorse her chances
here. SILVER LACE (Silver Deputy) seems more well-suited for shorter distances
and appears a step below these.

GIVEMEMORE (Brz) (Special Nash [Ire]) is also-eligible for the Honey Fox in
the event of a scratch but has never been the 8 1/2-furlong distance. We’ll give
her a race. CLOAKOF VAGUENESS (El Prado [Ire]) is stepping up here and we’ll
watch for now. POTRA FABULOUS (Arg) (Potrillon [Arg]) is conditioned by Bobby
Frankel but may need a race against this level of competition.
