Grade/Group 1 queen MISS LOREN (Arg) (Numerous) heads a field of 11 in
Saturday’s $300,000 Santa Margarita Invitational H. (G1) at Santa Anita Park.
The Richard Mandella-trained seven-year-old will be going for her third straight
win this year in the nine-furlong test, having already scored in the Santa Maria
H. (G1) and Paseana H., both over the track. She’ll be stretching out here an
extra sixteenth after competing exclusively at 1 1/16 miles on the main track
since shipping in from her native Argentina last year. Miss Loren also captured
the Clement L Hirsch H. (G2) in August at Del Mar and has been assigned to carry
the highweight of 118 pounds. Jose Valdivia Jr. has the call.

A. P. ADVENTURE (A.P. Indy) will be going for her first win of the year in
the Santa Margarita, after placing in the El Encino S. (G2) and La Canada S.
(G2) so far this season. The Wally Dollase charge posted her last win in the Las
Virgenes S. (G1) more than a year ago. HOUSE OF FORTUNE (Free House) and GOOD
STUDENT (Arg) (Louis Quatorze) will go as a coupled entry for trainer Ron
McAnally. The latter will attempt to turn the tables on Miss Loren after
finishing second by a nose in the Santa Maria last out. House of Fortune will
be making her second start as a four-year-old in this spot after running off the
board in the Sunshine Millions Distaff in late January.

Other notables in the Santa Margarita include TARLOW (Stormin Fever),
victress of the La Canada last out, SWEET LIPS (Kris S.), who captured the  Sunshine Millions Distaff, and DREAM OF SUMMER (Siberian Summer), a Grade 2
winner who strung together five straight wins last year.

House of Fortune will lead the post parade under a 113-pound impost that
includes jockey Alex Solis. She’ll be followed by SCROFA (Unusual Heat), Felipe
Martinez, 112; FESTIVAL (Jpn) (Assatis), Danny Sorenson, 113; Good Student, 114,
Tyler Baze; PERSONAL LEGEND (Awesome Again), Garrett Gomez, 115; A. P.
Adventure, Victor Espinoza, 116; URAIB (Ire) (Mark of Esteem [Ire]), Kent
Desormeaux, 115; Miss Loren; Sweet Lips, Rene Douglas, 116; Dream of Summer,
Corey Nakatani, 116; and Tarlow, Pat Valenzuela, 117.
