Multiple Grade 3 winner ADREAMISBORN (Kris S.) will go for his second
straight stakes win at Bay Meadows on Saturday while taking on eight rivals in
the San Francisco Breeders’ Cup Mile H. (G2). The Jerry Hollendorfer-trained
six-year-old finished second when making his 2005 debut in the main track Lafayette
H. at Golden Gate Fields, before trying the Seabiscuit Breeders’ Cup H. (G3)
over the Bay Meadows dirt in early February. He ran second there as well, then
finally broke through this year with a head victory in the Stanford Breeders’
Cup H. (G3) last out while returning the turf. Adreamisborn will have regular
rider Russell Baze back in the saddle on Saturday and has been assigned the
highweight of 119 pounds.

Among those challenging for the win will be CASTLEDALE (Ire) (Peintre
Celebre), who made a name for himself last year on the Triple Crown trail after
taking the Santa Anita Derby (G1). He finished a distant 14th in the Kentucky
Derby (G1) and wasn’t seen in competition again until making his four-year-old
bow in the San Fernando Breeders’ Cup S. (G2), where he ran fifth. After another fifth, this time in the Strub S. (G2), trainer Jeff Mullins switched the bay
colt back to the turf, where he ran second by a head against optional claiming
company. Castledale will try again under a 118-pound impost, including Rene Douglas.

PRIVATE CHEF (Partner’s Hero) will break from the rail carrying 112 pounds,
most of which will be taken up by jockey Jose Valdivia Jr. They’ll be followed
in the post parade by Castledale; NIGHT PATROL (Storm Boot), Francisco Duran,
116; TERROPLANE (Fr) (Verglas [Ire]), Corey Nakatani, 116; GOLD RUCKUS (Gold
Alert), Frank Alvarado, 115; ALY BUBBA (Alymagic), Macario Rodriguez, 113; NIGHT
BOKBEL (Ire) (Night Shift), Luis Jauregui, 116; Adreamisborn; and IMITATION
(Grand Slam), Carlos Silva, 112.
