Overbrook Farm’s CLOCK STOPPER (Gilded Time) found the winner’s circle for
the first time in almost a year as he drew off to win the $424,900

Breeders’ Cup S. (G2) by three parts of a length. The Dallas Stewart trainee
broke sharply under Jerry Bailey and settled off the leaders while Gators N
Bears (Stormy Atlantic) sped through fractions of :22 1/5, :44 4/5 and 1:09 3/5
before being caught by Clock Stopper on the outside. The winner finished the seven-furlong affair in 1:22 on a track labeled fast.
The five-year-old gelding left the gate at 4-1 to return $11.60, $5.60 and $3.60 to the
betting public. Gators N Bears paid $7.20 and $4.80 for second at 9-1 while
Silver Wagon (Wagon Limit) hit the bottom of the board at 21-1 to give $5.40.
The exotics paid $80.40 (exacta) and $787.40 (trifecta) with 8-5 favorite Sir
Shackleton (Miswaki) rounding out the 7-2-3-1 superfecta for $2,183. Lion
Tamer (Will’s Way) and Cajun Beat (Grand Slam) completed the order of finish.
Gold Storm (Seeking the Gold) was scratched from the race.
Clock Stopper, who was bred in Kentucky by Dr. Lance Bell and David Hochberg,
recorded his first graded win and only his second stakes victory here and now
holds a record of 20-6-7-3 with earnings of $779,524. His connections purchased
him for $110,000 at the 2001 Keeneland September Yearling Sale. The
chestnut is out of Great Fun (Farma Way), and has an unnamed yearling half-brother by Tamhid and an unnamed 2005
half-brother by Bargello.
