Dr. Tom Simon has purchased a majority breeding interest in recent Dubai
Golden Shaheen (UAE-G1) winner SARATOGA COUNTY (Valid Expectations), who will
enter stud next year at Vinery Stud in Summerfield, Florida.
Owned by Richard and Evelyn Pollard and trained by George Weaver, Saratoga
County has won his last four starts, including three stakes races. The bay colt
captured the about six-furlong Dubai Golden Shaheen by one length at Nad al
Sheba on March 26 after winning the General George H. (G2) at Laurel Park and
Mr. Prospector H. (G3) at Gulfstream Park earlier this year.
Saratoga County is being pointed toward a series of major races later in the
season with the ultimate goal being the Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1) on October 29
at Belmont Park. To date, he has earned $1,646,590 from a record of 17-6-4-1.
