Lois Nervitt’s SENSIBLY CHIC (Distorted Humor) swept wide turning for home
and cruised clear a facile 3 3/4-length winner in the $150,000
Vagrancy H. (G2)
at Belmont on Sunday. The 5-2 favorite sat just off the pace early while
tracking splits of :22 4/5 and :45 for the opening half-mile. As the field
turned for home, jockey John Velazquez urged his mount for her best and she
responded, completing the 6 1/2-furlong test in a swift 1:16 1/5 for trainer Tim Tullock. The five-year-old chestnut gave back $7.10, $3.50 and $2.60 while
topping the $19.20 exacta and $167.50 trifecta.

Bank Audit (Wild Rush) closed from off the pace to garner the place at 5-2,
worth $3.50 and $2.70. Ender’s Sister (A. P. Indy), persevered on the rail to
earn the show, two lengths clear of her nearest pursuer. The bay was good for
$5.40 at 16-1. Baldomera (Doneraile Court) completed the $1,665 superfecta at
48-1 and was trailed by Emerald Earrings (Helmsmann), Smokey Glacken (Forestry),
Forty Moves (Gold Fever), Friendly Michelle (Aratx) and Traci Girl (Quiet
American), with Pleasant Home (Seeking the Gold) being withdrawn.

Sensibly Chic moved her career mark to 19-8-5-2 with a bankroll of $452,477.
The five-year-old previously annexed the Broadway H., Stefanita S. and What A
Summer S., with placings in three previous Grade 2 affairs.

The winner was bred in the Empire State by McMahon Thoroughbreds and WinStar
Farm LLC, and was produced from the winning Rajana’s Honor (Hero’s Honor).
