Unbeaten LOST IN THE FOG (Lost Soldier), a 7 1/4-length winner of the Carry
Back S. (G2) last out, headlines a field of seven three-year-olds entered for
Saturday’s $250,000 King’s Bishop S. (G1) at Saratoga. Eight for eight in his
career, the Florida-bred colt has been training with a bar shoe due to a recent
quarter crack in his left-hind hoof. Trainer Greg Gilchrist said the bar shoe
will be removed for Saturday’s seven-furlong event.

“I could leave the bar shoe on, but the foot looks really good,” Gilchrist
said. “It doesn’t concern me.”

Lost in the Fog has enjoyed a terrific season so far, winning a total of six
stakes, including the Riva Ridge Breeders’ Cup (G2) and Swale S. (G2), while
shipping to the East Coast repeatedly from his Northern California base. The
King’s Bishop marks his fifth trip to the East Coast.

“It’s sort of a tribute to the horse that he has been able to do everything
with all of the traveling,” Gilchrist said. “He’s special to me.”

Hall of Fame jockey Russell Baze, Lost in the Fog’s regular rider, will be in
the irons.

Grade 2 winner FUSAICHI ROCK STAR (Wild Wonder), trained by Bob Baffert and
ridden by John Velazquez, will lead the post parade under a 121-pound impost.
Next comes SOCIAL PROBATION (Jules), Calvin Borel, 117; Lost in the Fog, 123;
THE DADDY (Valid Expectations), Robby Albarado, 117; SANTANA STRINGS (Wheaton),
Eibar Coa, 121; STORM SURGE (Storm Cat), Rafael Bejarano, 119; and BETTER THAN
BONDS (Sweetsouthernsaint), Richard Migliore, 119.
