The Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2006 Winter Mixed Sale, with a catalog of
1,290 horses, runs Tuesday through Friday. The first three days comprise the
Consignor Preferred Sessions, followed by an Open Session on Friday. Each daily
session begins at 11:00 a.m. (EST).
The sale features Phase II of the complete dispersal of Four Horsemen’s
Ranch, including 21 yearlings by such stallions as Northern Afleet (who has 10
on offer), Montbrook, Broken Vow, Bernstein and Stormy Atlantic, among others.
For the entire sale, 617 yearlings are cataloged. Prominent sires represented
include Awesome Again, Buddha, Came Home, Carson City, El Corredor, Forest Camp,
Halo’s Image, Mr. Greeley, Orientate, Songandaprayer, Successful Appeal, Tale of
the Cat and Yes It’s True. Among stallions with first-crop yearlings in the sale
are Proud Citizen, Zavata, Sunday Break (Jpn), Yankee Gentleman, Milwaukee Brew,
Kafwain, Whywhywhy, Hook and Ladder, Lido Palace (Chi) and Macho Uno.
Also going through the ring will be broodmares in foal to such notable
stallions as Stephen Got Even, More Than Ready, Forest Camp, Holy Bull,
Vindication, Chapel Royal, Dance Master, Exchange Rate, Johannesburg, Peace
Rules, Point Given, Posse, Red Bullet, Sky Mesa, Tiger Ridge and Trippi.
