A trio tied the fastest furlong at the Barretts March Sale of Two-Year-Olds
in Training preview on Monday, going the distance in :10 1/5.

The first is a bay filly by Gibson County named CLEVER UP and is consigned by
McKathan Farms, agent, as Hip No. 57. She is out of winning dam Clever Jocey
(Clever Trick) and her third dam is 1980 champion grass mare Just a Game (Ire) (Tarboosh).
Clever Up ran the same distance in the same time at the first training preview
on March 5.

Hip 138 is a chestnut colt by Swiss Yodeler. Consigned by B.C.3.
Thoroughbreds, the juvenile is out of the winning Queenie Z (Nostalgia’s Star)
and counts stakes-placed Marie’s Rose as a full sister. The colt, who was
purchased at the 2005 Barretts October Preferred Yearling Sale for $50,000,
worked an eighth of a mile in :10 1/5 at the first preview.

LOVELY LAGOON, a filly by Salt Lake, was the third worker to go a furlong in
:10 1/5. Consigned by Asmussen Horse Center, agent, as Hip 172, the chestnut
miss is the first foal out of the winning mare Tejano’s Love (Tejano). Lovely
Lagoon hails from the same female line as 1983 Malibu S. (G2) hero Time to
Explode. She sold for $20,000 at the 2004 Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale
and again at the 2005 Keeneland September Yearling Sale for $38,000. In the
March 5 breeze, Lovely Lagoon worked an eighth in :10 2/5.

The sale is set to begin Tuesday at 2 p.m. (PST) at Hinds Pavilion in Panoma,
California.
