Apprentice jockey Rosie Napravnik endured all conditions on Thursday while
earning a career-best, five-win day at Pimlico. The 18-year-old rider padded her
lead in the jockeys’ race, now owning 28 victories from the first 13 days of the
meet.

Napravnik captured the 2ND race with ROOPS LOOP (Yarrow Brae) on the fast
main track, before making another trip to the winner’s circle in the 5TH race, a
firm turf event, aboard STORM LEGACY (Storm Cat). She came right back in the 6TH
on the fast dirt with TORNADO WIND (Storm Boot), and claimed her last two after
a rain storm left the turf good and the main track sloppy with BETTER THAN EVER
(Sword Dance [Ire]) in the 9TH on the green and HENRY STREET (Old Trieste) on the
dirt.

“It makes a muddy day more enjoyable,” Napravnik said. “It is a day to be
proud of, but I would love to win five on Preakness day.”

Before Thursday, she had won four races five different times since beginning
her career last summer. Napravnik is now tied with Ramon Dominguez in fourth
nationally with 127 wins.
