Willie McKay’s dual Group 1-winning sprinter LES ARCS (Arch) will tackle the
Global Sprint Challenge. Conditioner Tim Pitt confirmed that the Golden Jubilee
S. (Eng-G1) and July Cup (Eng-G1) hero would run in the Sprinters S. (Jpn-G1)
at Nakayama on October 1 and Hong Kong Sprint (HK-G1) at Sha Tin on December 10,
despite the current ban on jockey John Egan imposed by the Japanese authorities.

“He’s in great form and he’s had a nice break after the July Cup,”
Pitt said. “He’s been back cantering for the last 10 days to a
fortnight and he will ship out to Japan about halfway through September. He’ll
run in the Sprinters S. out there and then, all being well, he’ll move on to the
big sprint over in Hong Kong — we’re just trying to sort out a jockey for him
there.”
