A field of eight sophomore fillies will head to the gate on Thursday in the
$100,000 Victory Ride S. (G3) at Saratoga, and CHEROKEE JEWEL (Cherokee Run)
will attempt to keep her three-race win streak going in the six-furlong test.
Trained by Tim Hills, the bay miss broke her maiden in February before suffering
her only career loss when second by a head in a five-furlong turf allowance at
Gulfstream Park. Returning to the main track, Cherokee Jewel has reeled off
three scores, including a 2 1/2-length win in the Capote Belle S. at this distance. She earned 103 BRIS Speed and E2 Pace ratings for
that victory, and will keep Eibar Coa in the saddle for her graded
debut.

WILDCAT BETTIE B (Meadowlake) is the most experienced filly in this field
with a 5-0-1 record from eight lifetime starts. Two back, the Larry Jones charge
captured the Miss Preakness S. (G3) by two lengths while setting the pace.
Returning from nearly a two-month break, the chestnut filly rallied from midpack to
take the Prioress S. (G1) last out by a neck, earning 100 Speed and 104 E2 Pace
figures. Wildcat Bettie B is undefeated in three starts at this distance and
will be tough to deny in this one under Mario Pino.

ORIGINAL SPIN (Distorted Humor) was one of the top fillies in her division
last year, but didn’t do so well in her first two starts back. Last out, though,
the Tony Mitchell-trained bay set the pace before being overtaken late in the
seven-furlong Test S. (G1), and the slight cutback in distance could help her
chances here. Original Spin posted a nice four-furlong move in :47 3/5 on August
16 and could challenge for it all with Fernando Jara aboard.

KHALILA (Elusive Quality) was second to our top pick in the Capote Belle last
out, and the Kiaran McLaughlin trainee has finished off the board only once
during her five-race career. That came as a fourth in the Genuine Risk Breeders’
Cup H. (G2) two back, and the bay lass has shown improving numbers of late. She
could come hang around at the end for a place in the top three.

G CITY GAL (Elusive Quality) finished third but was promoted to second via
disqualification in the Azalea Breeders’ Cup S. (G3) last out after being
steadied twice in the stretch. The Todd Pletcher charge earned a 110 Speed
figure for scoring in a six-furlong Keeneland allowance in April and could
surprise here with a good effort. MISTY ROSETTE (Stormin Fever) is slightly erratic in
her performances, but still owns the numbers to threaten in the exotics.

ANY LIMIT (Limit Out) strung together three straight wins, but tired to
finish sixth in the Test last out in her stakes debut. She probably needed that
race against black-type competition and could earn a share here. SUMMER
GIRLFRIEND (Forest Camp) looks out of her class in this spot. We can’t
recommend.
