Seven juveniles will head to the gate for Monday’s six-furlong, $150,000 Sapling S. (G3) at
Monmouth Park. AIR LORD (Stormin Fever)
performed well in his first start, recording a 101 BRIS Speed figure en route to
a 1 3/4-length score at Belmont Park. In his most recent outing, he stumbled badly
at the start before rallying for third, beaten 2 1/4 lengths, in the Mountaineer Juvenile S. We expect him to bounce back here for trainer Todd Pletcher. Chris DeCarlo rides.

BUFFALO MAN (El Prado [Ire]) is undefeated in two career starts at Monmouth Park,
winning both by daylight margins. He has good late speed figures and the Cam Gambolati-trained
bay should be a contender under jockey Eddie Castro.

XCHANGER (Exchange Rate) showed promise breaking his maiden first out over
this track by a widening 4 3/4 lengths for conditioner Mark Shuman. The gray juvenile
earned a 100 BRIS E2 Pace rating and must be respected under Joe Bravo.

After finishing fifth in his first three outings, FIRST CAVALRY (Forest Camp)
was switched to trainer Martin Drexler. In his first start for his new
conditioner,
the bay defeated stakes rivals in the Winnipeg Futurity. Although
we don’t recommend him for the win, he could hold on for part under Jose Lezcano.

DATRICK (Favorite Trick) finished a close second in the Mountaineer Juvenile
last out. In six career starts, the dark bay has never failed to miss the board.
He should be used in the exotics. ACTIN GOOD (Yes It’s True) will have plenty
of speed to deal with in the early going. The bay colt dueled for the early lead
before diminishing to fourth in the Saratoga
Special Breeders’ Cup S. (G2) last out. KING BARNEY
(Exciting Story) doesn’t appear to be fast enough to compete here.
