Jockey Russell Baze won five races on Thursday at Bay Meadows and needs just
24 more to surpass Laffit Pincay Jr. as racing’s all-time victory leader.
Baze’s five-win afternoon boosted his career total to 9,507. Pincay retired in
2003 with 9,530.

Baze swept the first three races with Aeblus (Rizzi) ($7.80), Ultimato
(Benchmark) ($4.80) and Crowning Moossa (Crowning Storm) ($5.80). After sitting
out the 4TH race, Baze won the 5TH with Can I Call You Dad (Corslew) ($4.20).

Baze had his perfect record snapped in the 6TH race when he finished fourth
aboard 3-2 favorite Auriga (Twin Spires), but bounced back to win the 7TH with
Five Cents a Kiss (Fine n’ Majestic) ($5.60).

Baze finished second with his final mount of the day, Wild Reflection (Wild
Wonder), who was beaten 1 1/4 lengths in the 8TH.
