Keeneland’s 63rd annual November Breeding Stock Sale begins Monday. A total
of 5,026 horses have been cataloged for the 14-day auction, which runs through
November 19. Sessions will get under way at 10 a.m. (EST) daily.

The catalog comprises 2,495 broodmares, 2,106 weanlings, 184 broodmare
prospects, 155 racing or broodmare prospects, 36 stallion prospects, 25 racing
or stallion prospects, 19 racing prospects and six stallions. In addition, a
season to Afleet Alex will be offered, with proceeds of its sale to benefit the
charity “Alex’s Lemonade Stand.”

Mares in foal to such established sires as A.P. Indy, Distorted Humor,
Dynaformer, Forestry, Giant’s Causeway, Kingmambo, Pulpit, Redoutes’s Choice
(Aus), Storm Cat and Unbridled’s Song, among others, are slated to go through
the ring. Among the promising young sires represented by in-foal mares are
Aldebaran, Empire Maker, Ghostzapper, Johannesburg, Leroidesanimaux (Brz),
Mineshaft, Officer, Orientate, Saint Liam, Smarty Jones, Speightstown and
Vindication.

Stallions with first-crop weanlings on offer include Action This Day, Chapel
Royal, Congaree, Lion Heart, Medaglia d’Oro, Peace Rules, Perfect Soul (Ire),
Pleasantly Perfect, Saarland, Smarty Jones, Speightstown, Strong Hope and Tapit.

Beginning in November, Keeneland will become the first Thoroughbred auction
company to employ digital x-rays in its repository, allowing more than one
veterinarian to view x-rays on a single horse simultaneously.

“We are very optimistic that the record-breaking momentum of our September
sale will carry into November,” Keeneland’s Director of Sales Geoffrey Russell
said. “As always, our November catalog offers an extensive number of stakes
producers and stakes-winning fillies and mares, as well as weanlings by some of
the hottest sires around.”

Coverage of the first two days of the sale will be broadcast live in the
United States by HorseRacing TV (HRTV). Live coverage of the entire sale will be
available at www.keeneland.com.

***Multiple Grade 1 winner FLEET INDIAN (Indian Charlie), cataloged as Hip
No. 85, has been declared out of the sale. The five-year-old dark bay mare
suffered suspensory injuries during the running of Saturday’s Breeders’ Cup
Distaff (G1).
