Saturday’s $150,000 Mrs. Revere S. (G2) attracted nearly a full field of
sophomore fillies for 1 1/16 miles over Churchill Downs’ turf, and we’ll give
top billing to BROWNIE POINTS (Forest Wildcat), who owns the tactical speed to
sit a perfect trip before pouncing.

Trained by Donnie Von Hemel, the chestnut filly earned her first stakes win
on the turf, winning the Cimarron S. as a juvenile, but she switched to the dirt
earlier this year and proved proficient, winning a pair of stakes and placing in
the Fantasy S. (G2) and Iowa Oaks (G3). Brownie Points moved back to the grass
in late August, finishing second in a listed event at Louisiana Downs, and she
improved off that effort, capturing her next two starts over stakes rivals. The
Kentucky-bred lass earned triple-digit BRIS Late Pace ratings in all three
starts, including a 117, and she’ll enter the Mrs. Revere in the best form of
her career.

QUITE A BRIDE (Stormy Atlantic) could prove to be the lone speed and has the
class to lead wire to wire. The Grade 3 winner exits a sharp two-length score in
the Pebbles S. at Belmont Park, earning a field-best 101 BRIS Speed rating, and
the Bill Mott charge can handle a course with some give to it (Churchill has
received a lot of rain recently), winning the Trenton S. earlier this year over
a “good” turf. We don’t like her outside post (11), but Quite a Bride remains a
serious threat to lead all the way.

PRECIOUS KITTEN (Catienus) has familiarity with the course, placing in a pair
of stakes this summer at Churchill, and the dark bay filly has trained forwardly
for her return to Louisville, Kentucky, recording a bullet five-furlong move
last Sunday for new trainer Bobby Frankel. She recorded an excellent win two
starts back in the Martha Washington Breeders’ Cup S. at Laurel Park, courageously
withstanding the rally of runner-up MERIBEL (Peaks and Valleys), and Precious
Kitten exits a solid second over the Polytrack at Keeneland in the Valley View
S. (G3). We expect to see a good late rally from her on Saturday.

Meribel is a confirmed one-run closer, and that style suited her well over
the Polytrack at Keeneland last time. She ran well in her three previous starts
on the grass, recording a 2-1-0 mark, and the Christophe Clement pupil is at
home going 8 1/2 furlongs. Meribel could make her presence felt in the stretch
once again.

GASIA (Silver Deputy) has turned in two solid performances on the grass for
trainer Larry Jones, and we wouldn’t be surprised to see her run well off the
49-day freshening. The chestnut miss is facing more proven turf rivals, but we
could easily see using her on the bottom of the exotics. MAY NIGHT (Gulch)
doesn’t like to win (1-4-2 from 12 starts), but she’s often faced top-class
rivals and will enter Saturday’s race off an encouraging third in the Valley
View. We can’t argue with anybody making a case to use her in the gimmicks.

J’RAY (Distant View) capped a four-race win streak on the turf with a victory
in the Tropical Park Oaks on New Year’s Day, but she’s raced only twice since
then and will need to improve significantly off those starts to challenge here.
WARRIOR GIRL (War Chant) offered a couple of decent efforts on the turf last
year, but she’s facing a steep hike in class off a victory over entry-level
allowance rivals last time at Keeneland.

BRIDGE GAME (Giant’s Causeway) has shown some promise on the grass for
trainer Tom Proctor, but we’ll just watch to see how she fares in her stakes
debut. GOTTAH PENNY (Stravinsky) probably needs an easier spot to be
competitive. Winless GOLDIE ROSE (Formal Gold) was overmatched versus $10,000
maiden claiming rivals two starts ago and has no business running here.
