Numbers soar on Wednesday at Keeneland

The numbers were up across the board on Wednesday at the Keeneland November
Breeding Stock Sale in Lexington, Kentucky. During the session, 240 horses sold
for $6,333,100, an increase of 43.6 percent compared to the same session last
year when 251 horses brought a total of $4,411,400. The average price jumped
50.1 percent, from $17,575 to $26,388, while the median price soared 100
percent, from $10,000 to $20,000.

Multiple stakes winner CORONADO ROSE (Coronado’s Quest) sold for the top price of
$300,000 to Jack G. Jones Jr. The four-year-old won three stakes
races, including the 2004 Princess H. at Sunland Park, and earned $132,809 from
a record of 11-4-1-3. She is out of Lakabi (Nureyev), a full sister to stakes winner and
Grade 3-placed European Rose.

Coronado Rose was consigned by Asmussen Horse Center, agent,
and sold as Hip No. 3457.

A colt by Tapit, Hip 3381, was the highest-priced weanling, bringing $110,000
from Sonata Bloodstock. Consigned by Gainesway, agent, the gray colt is the
first foal out of Wawota (Glitterman), who finished third in the 2002 Natalma S.
(Can-G3). His second dam is Group 1-placed No Habra Ninguna (Arg) (Parade
Marshal) and his third
dam is Group 3-placed Loca Mia (Laramie Trail).

With four sessions remaining, 2,409 horses have changed hands for
$304,755,500, up 6.8 percent compared to last year’s total of $285,457,500 for
2,398 horses. The average price is up 6.3 percent, from $119,040 to $126,507,
and the median price is up 29.4 percent, from $42,500 to $55,000.
