VIGATA (Orpen), an Italian highweight and Group 3 winner, topped the final session and proved
to be the overall
sale highlight when selling for 87,000 at Societa Gestione Aste’s November Mixed
Sale in
Milan on Saturday. Sold in foal to Doyen as Hip 226, Agricola Patrizia’s
five-year-old was
knocked down to Varese Stud owner Antonio Boesso, who also purchased the session
topper
on the same day last year.

Agricola Patrizia utilized those funds later on when
paying
60,000 for the four-year-old filly Mary Pekan (Sri Pekan) later in the day. Presented by trainer Valfredo Valiani as
Hip 313, she ran third in
this season’s
Premio Carlo Chiesa (Ity-G3) and hails from the family of Middle Park S.
(Eng-G1) winner
Amadeus Wolf (Mozart [Ire]).

Of the 70 lots offered on the day, 33 sold for 383,500 at an average of
11,621.
Boosted by two days of advances, gross returns for the sale were up almost 40
percent to
1,416,000, while the sale average jumped nearly 30 percent to 9,503. Full
