Seven sophomores were entered in the $150,000 Bay Shore S. (G3) at
Aqueduct on Saturday as part of the Wood Memorial (G1) undercard. Bobby Frankel
trainees IN THE
WOODS (Forest Wildcat) and LES GRANDS
TROIS (Officer) both have David Flores listed to ride, which means one of the
two stablemates will scratch. From all indications, In the Woods will be the one
withdrawn from the Bay Shore, leaving Les Grands Trois as our top pick.

Les Grands
Trois will move his record to a perfect
three-for-three if he takes this one. The dark bay colt broke his maiden at
Belmont last July by nine lengths, then returned on March 7 to take a
first-level allowance by a length. He garnered a 96 Speed figure for that last
one, and will be tough to deny in this spot.

INDIAN CAMP (Forest Camp) didn’t show much last year, but was transferred to
trainer Chris Englehart prior to his last start, which he won by an easy 3 1/2
lengths on Aqueduct’s inner dirt. The chestnut colt made his stakes debut in the
Kentucky Cup Juvenile S. (G3) last year, running fifth, but seems like a brand new horse based on his last start. Indian Camp posted a 100 Speed rating
for that victory, and worked a bullet half-mile in :47 3/5 last Thursday to
prepare for this one. He could challenge for pacesetting duties and take this
field all the way home under Channing Hill.

BILL PLACE (Master Bill) has yet to run worse than second from six lifetime
starts, most recently filling the runner-up spot in the Fred “Cappy” Capossela
S. over the inner dirt. The Tony Dutrow-trained bay, a former claimer, has
earned nice numbers for this last three races and has also been working well to
get ready for this event. Bill Place could earn his second stakes victory in
this spot with Cornelio Velasquez aboard.

HOBBITONTHEROCKS (Lion Hearted) could show up in the top three off two
straight wins for trainer Ramon Preciado. The dark bay gelding stalked the pace
in second in his past two before scoring at the end, and jockey Alan Garcia
could utilize those same tactics to get up for a share here.

Capossela winner WOLLASTON BAY (Sea of Secrets) was a well-beaten seventh in
the Gotham S. (G3) last out, and could show more while reverting from that
event’s 1 1/16 miles, but we’ll let the chestnut beat us. PASS THE PUNCH (Two
Punch) doesn’t appear fast enough to keep up with these.
