Derrick Smith, Michael Tabor and Susan Magnier’s SIMPLY PERFECT (GB)
(Danehill) has been retired to Coolmore Stud, it was announced on Wednesday.
Following the sophomore’s errant display when blowing the turn in the Breeders’
Cup Filly & Mare Turf (G1) at Monmouth on Saturday, the decision was taken to
send the dual Group 1 winner to the paddocks.

In total, Simply Perfect collected in four of her 13 starts, including last
year’s Fillies’ Mile (Eng-G1) and May Hill S. (Eng-G2) as well as the Falmouth
S. (Eng-G1) at Newmarket in July. She was also third in the English One Thousand
Guineas (Eng-G1) in May. Her trainer Jeremy Noseda paid tribute to his charge.

“She has been a top-class filly at two and three, winning a Group 1 in both
seasons,” he said. “She was a pleasure to train and has been great to have
around the yard. She will head to Coolmore in the next week to 10 days and I
hope she will go on to become a good broodmare. I was very disappointed with
what happened at Monmouth Park and am still unsure as to why she took such an
erratic course.”
