Grade 1 victress HYSTERICALADY (Distorted Humor) returns to site of her
biggest triumph. She is among six fillies and mares in Saturday’s $300,000
Fleur de Lis H. (G2) at Churchill Downs. Trained by Jerry Hollendorfer, the splendid five-year-old ran a monstrous race in finishing a
head back in third in the Humana Distaff S. (G1) over this oval and should be
well clear at the wire with a similar effort. The chestnut has excellent gate
speed and a robust late kick, which makes her appear to be heads and shoulders
above this field. Garrett Gomez will pilot the Kentucky-bred, who is spotting
her foes between five and 10 pounds.

ASPIRING (Seeking the Gold) is somewhat interesting in here due to the fact
that she will tote a feathery 111 pounds for trainer Rusty Arnold. The
dark bay filly was a closing second over this oval in an allowance last out and could be primed for a peak showing in her third try off the bench. Julien
Leparoux will break from the rail aboard the improving four-year-old, who should
get a nice pace to run at.

Sunshine Millions Distaff runner-up PEACH FLAMBE (Flying Chevron) has a good
deal of early gas and marks one of the few Midwest shippers in recent memory
from the Mark Hennig barn. The chestnut mare has faced stakes foes in six
straight races with mixed results. With a clear early lead this courageous filly could
land a
top-three placing under Robby Albarado.

KATHLEEN’S REEL (Lemon Drop Kid) was an inexpensive yearling purchase
but has earned that money back and then some for former jockey Ray Sibille. The bay
four-year-old is a steady performer who finished a decent third in the Sixty
Sails H. (G3) most recently and a similar effort could yield a similar result
in this affair. Calvin Borel will guide the bay miss.

Shuvee H. (G2) upsetter COWGIRLS DON’T CRY (Pure Prize), who is cross-entered
in the Ogden Phipps H. (G1) at Belmont, would add a good deal of early speed to
this field, but we’re not sure she’s ready to handle a horse like Hystericalady
at this stage of her career. The Kiaran McLaughlin trainee has run two turns
just once in her career, and it resulted in the worst performance of her career.
Mike Luzzi is named to ride if she ships in.

INITFORTHEKANDY (Kandaly) has won or placed in eight of 10 starts over this
famed strip and comes off back-to-back wins for conditioner Jeff Talley.
The chestnut mare is still in search of her initial stakes win and will likely
have plenty of company on the front end in here, so we’ll look elsewhere on this
occasion.
