Eleven juvenile fillies will contest Wednesday’s $150,000 Sorrento S. (G3) at
Del Mar, and EMMY DARLING (Graeme Hall) will enter the 6 1/2-furlong event off
an extremely promising effort, rolling to a two-length victory in the June 28
Landaluce S. last time out. Trained by John Sadler, the chestnut lass has
continued to train forwardly since that outing, recording four works over Del
Mar’s Polytrack since July 16, and she’s displayed a terrific turn of foot in
both career outings. Emmy Darling  will have to spot her rivals weight
under her 123-pound impost, but we’ll tab her for the win from just off the
pace.

STARDOM BOUND (Tapit) missed the break when making her career bow at Del Mar
last out, but the gray lass closed determinedly through the stretch to just miss
by a nose under Mike Smith, netting a 103 BRIS Late Pace rating for her
runner-up effort. The Chris Paasch runner is eligible to improve significantly
off that promising debut, and we won’t be surprised to see Stardom Bound break
her maiden over stakes rivals in this spot.

DASH DOT DASH (Put It Back) displayed a lot of heart when breaking her maiden
last time, and we’ll look for continued improvement in her stakes debut. The
Vladimir Cerin pupil has finished up nicely in both starts, and we’ll look for
her to give another solid stretch run here while stretching out in distance.

COSMIC QUEEN (Stormy Atlantic) will also represent Paasch, and the sharp
maiden winner will pick up the services of Garrett Gomez. The chestnut was no
match for our top choice when favored at even-money in the Landaluce, but Cosmic
Queen is eligible to improve off her first test against winners. We like her
worktab and will include her in some exotics.

GLITTER CITY (City Place) gets blinkers off and figures to show speed here
for Jeff Mullins, but she’ll probably catch pressure in this large field.
Runner-up in the Landaluce, the gray miss remains a threat with early foot, so
consider for the gimmicks. EVITA ARGENTINA (Candy Ride [Arg]) closed with a rush
to win at first asking last out, and the chestnut’s late kick must be respected.
The late runner is another one to consider for the top three.

TRIFECTA KING (Peace Rules) rolled to a 3 3/4-length score in the Cinderella
S. last out, but has been freshened 73 days off that start and loses the
services of Rafael Bejarano to Dash Dot Dash. We’ll just watch to see how she
fares from the rail. MALUSITA (Pure Prize) will need to improve significantly
off her last effort to challenge.

UPPER MANHATTAN (Unbridled Time) defeated maiden claimers at Hollywood and
finished second in a starter allowance last out over the Polytrack. She could
find these rivals too tough. AMINA (Bertrando) drew the far outside post and
will step up to face open company for the first time. She’s difficult to
recommend. SILAR RULES (Ten Most Wanted) has missed the board in all three
starts and might have difficulty winning a maiden claimer on the undercard.
