Last updated: 3/17/09 7:03 PM

A bay filly by Indian Charlie sold for $425,000 to lead all offerings at the
first session of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2009 March Sale of Selected
Two-Year-Olds in Training in Ocala, Florida, on Tuesday. Consigned by Jerry
Bailey Sales Agency, agent, Hip No. 212 was purchased by Grace Stables LLC.

Produced from the stakes-winning Hollywood and Wine (Tactical Cat), the
Kentucky-bred’s second dam was multiple stakes winner Melrose Wine (Desert Wine), a
half-sister to Grade 2 heroine Melair (Debonair Roger) as well as Grade 3 victor
Rosie’s K. T. (Kfar Tov).

The session topper completed her one-furlong work in :10 1/5 at the first
under tack show last Thursday. She was a $200,000 Keeneland September graduate
last fall.

Stonestreet Stables LLC went to $400,000 to secure the session’s highest
price, a gray colt by Grand Slam consigned by Off the Hook LLC, agent. The
Kentucky-bred toured the ring as Hip 112.

The juvenile’s dam, the winning Cosmic Wish (Dixieland Band), was produced
from the Grade 2-placed Cosmic Fire (Capote), also the dam of multiple Grade 3
winner Cosmonaut (Lemon Drop Kid) as well as the stakes-placed Kickin’ the
Clouds (Dixieland Band).

The session’s leading colt worked a quarter-mile in :20 1/5 at last
Thursday’s under tack show. He previously sold for $80,000 at the 2008 Keeneland
September sale.

On Tuesday, 115 horses sold for $11,080,000, a decline of 29.6 percent from a
year ago when $15,734,500 was realized from the sale of 110 head. The average
was down 32.6 percent, from $143,041 to $96,348, while the median was off 22.2
percent, from $90,000 to $70,000.

The second and final session is Wednesday beginning at 11 a.m. (EDT). For
