Due to frigid temperatures and high winds, Aqueduct officials canceled live
racing on Sunday, though the facility remained open for simulcasting. The
Ruthless S., scheduled to be run as the 3RD race on the day’s card, has been
rescheduled for January 10.
There is no charge for admission or general parking at Aqueduct for either
live racing days (Wednesdays through Sundays) or simulcast-only days. On dark
days, fans will be able to enter the facility through the Clubhouse entrance.
During simulcast-only days, parking and admission gates will open at 11:30
a.m. (EST), mutuels will open at approximately noon, and the final simulcast
race will go off at approximately 7 p.m. The Man ‘o War and Big A Grill are
available on simulcast-only days to provide concession stand service.
Philadelphia Park in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, also canceled live
racing on Sunday due to the weather, while officials at Charles Town canceled
following the 1ST race.
