The Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2010 Winter Mixed Sale begins on January
19 with a total of 496 horses cataloged for the two-day sale. Hip numbers 1-166
sell in Tuesday’s Consignor Preferred session and Hip numbers 167 – 496 sell on
January 20 in the Open Session. Both sessions begin at 11 a.m. (EST).
The 258 yearlings in the sale are highlighted by the progeny of proven sires
like Tapit, Candy Ride (Arg), Birdstone, Speightstown, Bernstein, Macho Uno,
Afleet Alex, Trippi, Wildcat Heir, Put It Back, D’wildcat and Chapel Royal. In
addition, offspring of promising young sires Bluegrass Cat, Scat Daddy,
Shakespeare, Artie Schiller, Pomeroy, With Distinction and Utopia (Jpn) are also
cataloged.
Buyers looking for either racing or pinhooking prospects will find yearlings
bred in Florida, Kentucky, Louisiana, New York, Ontario and Pennsylvania.
Broodmare buyers will find mares in foal to a diverse list of proven and
promising stallions including champion Curlin as well as Cherokee Run,
Songandaprayer, Yes It’s True, Heatseeker (Ire), Lion Heart, Midnight Lute,
Smoke Glacken, City Zip, Montbrook, Milwaukee Brew, Circular Quay and Rockport
Harbor.
