A stellar cast of eight turf distaffers will vie in the
$200,000 Jenny Wiley S. (G2) at Keeneland on Saturday. The condition of the
turf, as it often does, will play a huge part in this, but we’ll just assume
that the course will be firm. We’ll take a chance with CARRIBEAN SUNSET (Ire)
(Danehill Dancer) for trainer Christophe Clement. The multiple Group 3 heroine, a head
second in the Diana H. (G1) two back, has very good tactical speed and is a
stakes winner at the trip. We expect the talented five-year-old to use this race
as a springboard to a big 2010 with Garrett Gomez in the saddle.

Champion FOREVER TOGETHER (Belong to Me) slipped a bit in 2009 but still put
together a fine campaign, winning or placing in all six tries for trainer
Jonathan Sheppard. The defending champ impressed us immensely with her win in
this in 2009 and has an obvious affinity for this oval, so we see her as a
logical win play off the bench.

SALVE GERMANIA (Ire) (Peintre Celebre) made a splash in her U.S. debut when
rallying past a top-class field in the Ballston Spa H. (G2) prior to finishing
fifth in the competitive E. P. Taylor S. (Can-G1) to conclude her four-year-old
campaign. The Todd Pletcher trainee returned last month with a sharp runner-up
showing in an allowance tilt at Gulfstream Park and should be ready to improve
from the rail on this day.

Group 2 victress TREAT GENTLY (GB) (Cape Cross [Ire]) showed little in the Santa
Ana H. (G2) last month but deserves a long look in here due to her back class
for conditioner Bill Mott. A high-class performer overseas at three, the mare
didn’t elevate her game last campaign but could be
poised for a big showing in her third off the shelf beneath Kent Desormeaux. We
consider the Juddmonte homebred a live threat at a big price.

We can’t find much fault in win machine QUIET HARBOR (Arch) and consider her
a threat on the class rise. The Shug McGaughey-trained bay reeled off five wins
in a row before finishing second in the Honey Fox S. (G3) at Gulfstream last out
while registering a career-best 96 BRIS Speed number. She’ll need to eclipse
that to contend in here, but we expect her to.

WASTED TEARS (Najran) might lack the class of some of these but has certainly
proven her liking for the turf for trainer Bart Evans, compiling a career
11-8-1-0 grassy mark. The dark bay five-year-old has excellent early speed and
should have things her own way for a while under Rajiv Maragh, but this is a
much stronger field than she’s accustomed to and she’ll need a career showing to
win this.

HOT CHA CHA (Cactus Ridge) recorded a 4 1/2-length victory in the Queen
Elizabeth II Challenge Cup S. (G1) over this same course in the fall but picked
a tough spot to make her four-year-old debut in. The Philip Sims charge really
elevated her game when running on the lawn last year, notching two graded wins.
We’ll use this filly in the gimmicks. Champion STARDOM BOUND (Tapit) might have peaked at two and picked an
impossible spot to make her turf debut in. We’ll pass.
