Catalogs for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2011 Winter Mixed Sale will
not be in the mail until next week, but horsemen can take an advance look at the
catalog by accessing the OBS
website.
A total of 522 horses are cataloged for the two-day sale, scheduled to begin
January 18 with hip numbers 1-190 selling in the Consignor Preferred session.
Hip numbers 191-522 sell on January 19 in the Open Session. Both sessions begin
at 11 a.m. (EST).
The 238 yearlings in the sale are highlighted by the progeny of a strong
roster of proven and promising sires including Birdstone, Lion Heart, Bernstein,
Any Given Saturday, Bluegrass Cat, Discreet Cat, Exchange Rate, Sky Mesa, Scat
Daddy, Successful Appeal, Yes It’s True, Into Mischief, Henny Hughes, Student
Council and War Chant.
Leading freshman sire Congrats has progeny in the sale, as do Florida-based
Wildcat Heir, Circular Quay, D’wildcat, Belgravia, A. P.Warrior, Put It Back,
Chapel Royal, Cowtown Cat and Indian Ocean.
Broodmare buyers will find mares in foal to an equally strong group of
stallions. That list includes Bernardini, Curlin, Pioneerof the Nile, Hard Spun,
English Channel, Colonel John, Majestic Warrior, Tiz Wonderful, Mizzen Mast, Old
Fashioned, Flower Alley, Einstein (Brz), Belong to Me, Pleasantly Perfect and
Pure Prize. Florida-based sires in this group include In Summation, Montbrook,
Shakespeare, With Distinction, Graeme Hall and Two Step Salsa.
