OBS Spring sale set for Monday

The Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2011 Spring Sale of Two-Year-Olds in
Training begins on Monday at 10:30 a.m. (EDT). A total of 1,377 juveniles have
been cataloged for the four-day sale, which will be streamed live via the OBS
website at obssales.com.

Hip No.’s 1-344 will be sold on Monday; Hips 345-688 will go through the ring
on Tuesday; Hips 689-1032 sell on Wednesday; and Hips 1033-1377 will tour the
ring on Thursday.

The dark bay filly CAMEO LADY (Yonaguska) and a colt by Macho Uno worked
quarters in :20 2/5 to post the under tack show’s fastest works at the distance
during Friday’s session. Cameo Lady was consigned as Hip 1037 from the Hoppel’s
Horse and Cattle Co., agent, consignment, while the Macho Uno colt is entered as
Hip 1049 from the de Meric Sales, agent, consignment.

A pair of youngsters shared honors for the fastest eighth-mile breezes at the
under tack shows, each speeding the distance in :9 4/5. On Wednesday it was Hip
387, a bay filly by Indian Charlie consigned by Hoppel’s Horse and Cattle Co.,
agent. A gray colt by Half Ours posted the same time on Friday and will enter
the ring from the Costanzo Sales consignment as Hip 1335.

The under tack show’s fastest three-eighths works were clocked in :33 1/5. On
Tuesday it was Hip 319, a bay colt by Orientate consigned by All In Sales (Tony
Bowling), agent. DADDY’S JEWEL (The Daddy), consigned by Blue River Bloodstock,
agent, equaled that time on Thursday. The chestnut filly is entered in the field
as Hip 1015.
