Take Charge Brandi returns in Test, faces nine

Champion Take Charge Brandi (Giant’s Causeway) will make just her second
start of the year on Saturday at Saratoga while facing nine rivals in the
$500,000
Test S. (G1) going seven furlongs.

It’ll be the first time the D. Wayne Lukas charge has run at less than a mile
since her last appearance at the Spa. That came in the Adirondack S. (G2) last
August, where the chestnut miss finished fifth. She dropped her next two starts
as well, before beginning a four-race win streak in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile
Fillies (G1) at 61-1.

Take Charge Brandi was scheduled to face American Pharoah in the Rebel S.
(G2) over the spring at Oaklawn Park, but a knee chip sent her to the sidelines
and forced her to miss the rest of the spring events, including the Kentucky
Oaks (G1) on May 1.
