Rockport Harbor pursues Razorback

Last updated: 3/10/06 6:15 PM

ROCKPORT HARBOR (Unbridled’s Song), a 2 1/4-length winner when making his
four-year-old debut in the Essex H. (G3) last out, is the 118-pound highweight
in Sunday’s $150,000 Razorback Breeders’ Cup H. (G3). The John Servis trainee
opened his career with four straight wins, including the 2004 Remsen S. (G2),
but raced only twice last season, one of those being a runner-up finish to
Razorback rival GREATER GOOD (Intidab) in the Rebel S. (G3). The gray colt will
face seven challengers in the 1 1/16-mile test with regular rider Stewart
Elliott.

West Virginia Derby (G3) hero REAL DANDY (Yankee Victor) merits respect.
Trainer Steve Asmussen will remove the blinkers for the Razorback. PURIM (Dynaformer),
a Grade 3 winner and runner-up in the American Derby (G2) while racing on the
grass last year, remains on the main track for Thomas Proctor. The dark bay colt
finished a good second behind Sir Shackleton (Miswaki) in the Super S. at Tampa
Bay Downs most recently.

Greater Good will seek to rebound off a fifth in the Essex. A Grade 2-winning
juvenile, the Bob Holthus charge captured both the Rebel and Southwest S. at
Oaklawn in 2005, but he’s winless in five starts since.

The contestants, in post parade order with jockeys and imposts, are Real
Dandy, Luis Quinonez, 116; ARCH HALL (Archers Bay), James Graham, 115; PRINCE
T. (Royal Anthem), Guy Smith, 112; Purim, Robby Albarado, 115; THUNDER MISSION
(Pulpit), Corey Lanerie, 114; Greater Good, John McKee, 115; CHIPPEWA TRAIL
(General Royal), John Jacinto, 111; and Rockport Harbor.
