Two share honors at Magic Millions

A remarkable 98.6 percent of the horses were sold during a robust renewal of the
Magic Millions Perth Thoroughbred Sale at Belmont Sunday. Two horses from the Astrik Pty Ltd. dispersal shared top honors, with a two-year-old colt by Galileo
(Ire) and a mare by Real Quiet each bringing A$210,000. Magic Millions, as
agent, purchased Hip No. 71, a juvenile colt by Galileo out of the nine-year-old
Suave Dancer mare Chestnut Dream, on behalf of a local client. The colt’s dam
was twice-placed at the group level and earned A$152,255 at the races. This is
her second foal.

A little while later, Hip 98 equaled that one’s price tag when purchased for
another unnamed client by Magic Millions. By 1998 Kentucky Derby (G1) winner
Real Quiet, the stakes-winning Lady Natasha, a foal of 2002, hails from a
premier Australian family that includes Group 1 winners My Brilliant Star and
Shot of Thunder.

A total of 143 of the 145 horses on offer found homes. The sale grossed
A$4,653,300 for an average of A$32,541.
