At The Races (ATR), the United Kingdom and Ireland’s most watched dedicated horseracing
channel, was named “Best Sports Service” at
Wednesday night’s Broadcast magazine awards ceremony. Broadcast is the country’s
pre-eminent weekly trade publication for the UK television industry and At The
Races has now won two Broadcast awards in the last three years. In 2006
they won “Best
Specialist Channel,” and were nominated in two categories in
2007.

The “Best Sports Service” category is awarded for excellence in the highly
competitive sports sector across all platforms and in winning the award At The
Races was commended for its business focus and connection with, and
understanding of, its audience across all television, broadband, mobile and
interactive distribution platforms in which it operates.

The three channels At The Races beat in the “Best Sports Service” category
were Racing UK, Eurosport and Setanta Sports News.

Chief Executive Matthew Imi and Executive Producer Rob Dakin collected
the award on behalf of At The Races at the ceremony hosted at London’s Grosvenor
House Hotel.

“I am obviously thrilled for
everyone at ATR and the racecourses which support us as well as those with whom
we have established long standing and productive partnerships across all areas
of our business,” Imi said. “We have a very talented and totally committed team, both in
front of and behind the cameras and on the broadband side, working tirelessly to
produce high quality, entertaining and punter friendly coverage of British and
Irish horseracing.

“This is our second Broadcast award and to win “Best Sports
Service” this year is particularly pleasing given that we’ve beaten such high
quality general sports services such as Setanta and Eurosport. This is also
great for our racing industry as a whole as it enhances the profile of the
sport, and our coverage of it, to a broad and significant audience.”
