Codoy scheduled to work Friday for Blue Grass

Last updated: 4/1/10 4:43 PM

Trainer Mark Hubley reports that Grade 3-placed CODOY (Bernstein) is
scheduled to breeze at Keeneland Friday morning in preparation for the April 10
Blue Grass S. (G1). Plans call for Codoy to take to the track between 8 and 8:15
a.m. (EDT) and breeze six or seven furlongs.

Victor Lebron will be aboard Codoy for the work; however, Hubley said he had
not determined which jockey would ride the bay in the Blue Grass.

Codoy was a closing second to Interactif (Broken Vow) in the Bourbon S. (G3)
over the Keeneland turf last October before running unplaced in the Breeders’
Cup Juvenile Turf (G2) at Santa Anita. The colt opened his 2010 season by
crossing the finish line first in the John Battaglia Memorial S. on Polytrack at
Turfway Park, but was disqualified to second for interference.

On Thursday, Codoy stood in the starting gate and galloped about 1 1/2 miles
with exercise rider Mimi Davis aboard.

The two other Blue Grass probables on the grounds also both galloped 1 1/2
miles Thursday morning.

Palm Beach S. (G3) hero PADDY O’PRADO (El Prado [Ire]), who was ridden by
Mary Doser, is scheduled to work five furlongs Saturday morning with Kent
Desormeaux up.

Sam-Son Farms’ homebred GIANT’S TOMB (Awesome Again), who had assistant
trainer Hugh Chatman up, also is scheduled for a five-furlong work Saturday.
Runner-up in the Display S. in his final start at two, the Mark Frostad pupil is
exiting an allowance/optional claiming victory on the dirt at Fair Grounds.
