A field of 12 has been entered in Sunday’s $100,000
Alydar S.
at Saratoga, and leading the group is multiple Grade 1-winning millionaire
Palace Malice (Curlin).

The Todd Pletcher-trained five-year-old will be making just his second start
of the year in the 1 1/8-mile Alydar. The bay ran third in his seasonal debut,
the Diablo S. sprinting six furlongs on May 10, in his first start since a
subpar sixth in the Whitney H. (G1) last August at Saratoga.

That marred an otherwise perfect mark in 2014 for Palace Malice, who earlier
captured the Metropolitan H. (G1), New Orleans H. (G2), Gulfstream Park H. (G2)
and Westchester H. (G3). The Kentucky-bred gained fame during his sophomore
season with an easy win in the Belmont S. (G1).
