A record number of 3,085 lots has been cataloged for the upcoming Tattersalls
December Sale, which runs from November 26 through December 6. The catalogs,
which can be viewed online at www.tattersalls.com, will be available from
November 1.
The December Sale comprises one day of yearlings, followed by 1,395 foals
selling over five days and a further 1,390 broodmares and fillies in training,
and other categories, selling over the final four days.
Heading the sale is the trio of Group 1-winning fillies and mares, INDIAN INK
(Indian Ridge), RED EVIE (Intikhab) and SATWA QUEEN (Fr) (Muhtathir [GB), as
well as the Group 2-winning two-year-old filly FLEETING SPIRIT (Invincible
Spirit).
In addition, there is the 36-strong Swettenham Stud draft and a dispersal
from Haras de Bouquetot in France.
“The 2006 Tattersalls December Sale was outstanding and broke just about
every record in the book, but we strongly believe we have three catalogs,
yearlings, foals and breeding stock, with the same sort of quality this year,”
Tattersalls Chairman Edmond Mahony said. “To have three Group 1-winning fillies
cataloged is very rare, but the real feature of the mares catalog is the depth
of quality which should ensure the usual global demand.
“The same can be said of the foal catalog, which is not only the largest we
have ever compiled, but also one of the strongest, with foals by all of the
current top 20 active British-and Irish-based sires, as well as top French,
German and North American sires.”
